Longhorns Winding Up Track Season Nicely

Kimball High's girls and boys track and field teams travel to the Cheyenne County meet Friday following their performance at the SPVA conference meet that included a number of personal records and medals.

After Cheyenne County, it's on to District on May 11.

The State meet is May 19-20.

At the SPVA meet, Longhorns head coach Tiffany Johnson said, "The kids competed hard, and we had several personal records and walked away with a couple medals."

Here's a look at some Longhorns highlights from the April 28 SPVA meet at Hershey.

•James McGinnis third and Trevor Fuss fifth in the pole vault.

•The boys 4x400 relay team of Braxton Miller, Draco Miller, Trevor Fuss, and Xavier Thomas-Lewis placed 6th.

•Julia Winstrom was sixth in the 100 and long jump.

•Jayden Paxton was sixth in high jump.

•Addisyn Olson was fourth in high jump and fifth in long jump.

•The firls 4x100 team of Emma Novotny, Jade O'Rourke, Addisyn Olson, and Julia Winstrom placed sixth.

•The 4x400 relay team of Katie Kilgore, Jayden Paxton, Grace Anderson, and Addisyn Olson placed fifth.
