Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Super Saturday

Kimball, Potter-Dix & Banner County Seniors Become Grads On Same Day

A capacity crowd gathered in the Longhorn gym on Saturday, May 13, to watch the Kimball graduating class of 2023 receive its diplomas.

Recognized as the top 10 percent of their class were valedictorian Charlotte Hargreaves and salutatorian Emma Patterson. Other academic acknowledgments included members of the National Honor Society and seniors graduating with honors – Taylor Bernt, Madison Ebeling, Hargreaves, Angel Helms, Justin Klosterman, Keara O'Brien, Patterson, Jayden Paxton and Xavier Thomas-Lewis.

In an extraordinary moment, more than half of this class of 21 seniors were recognized as having attended school together from kindergarten to graduation day.

Valedictorian Hargreaves and salutatorian Patterson reminisced on their years and activities together and thanked their parents and families for their unending support. In addition, they expressed how their classmates made the years together so very special.

In an emotional presentation, the 21 seniors searched the crowd for parents, family and special people in their lives to hug and present with a rose.

Finally, the seniors were presented with their diplomas by School Board President Travis Cook – and they went from seniors to graduates.
