Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Banner County
Good morning, little soggy out there. Although the rain was greatly needed and appreciated by many, so much all at once has caused quite a lot of damage to some of our roads.
Water over the roads and creating ditches and lakes where there are not any. I had a lot of hail that tore the trees up badly, but the grass sure does look nice!
This is the last week of school and the weather has created some schedule changes.
Patron’s Day was supposed to be Monday and because the track was a puddle, it has been moved to Thursday, TODAY! That is still the last day of school and the Pre-K field trip. I think we used to do that earlier in the year by a week or so, but we also didn’t travel so much and so far for sport competitions, or for field trips.
It all takes time, and then of course there is the academics and finals. Way way back school started later, after Labor Day and got out a little later in the spring. Yep, the times keep on changing!
Following that last day, the high school field and track championships will be the 19th & 20th and for more information, please call the school at 436-5262. Happy summer everyone! Saturday, May 20th is the Free fishing and park permit entry day for all of the Nebraska State Parks, all day.
I hope the weather cooperates and we all have a chance to enjoy one, or many, of our beautiful parks!
