Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
On Monday, Kyler Lusche placed ninth at the C5 district golf tournament in Kimball on May 15 at the Four Winds Golf Course.
After missing most of the season with a back injury, Lusche shot a 39/42 for an 81 to earn a trip to the state meet in Columbus on May 23 and 24.
The Four Winds was in tip-top shape, and the cool morning turned into a perfect afternoon of golf. The Kimball community was in full force to welcome golfers and volunteer as scorers.
Mitchell's Cael Peters shot a 35/37 to win the district title with a 72, followed by Austin Adelung from Amherst with a 75.
Kearney Catholic individual golfers captured third, fourth, fifth and sixth places with scores from 75 to 80.
Teams qualifying for state were Kearney Catholic, which won the team title with a 312, Amherst with 332, and the Mitchell Tigers with a 350 team score.
Other Kimball golfers were Landon Norberg with a 44/46 for a 90, Connor Deboodt with 108, and Bransyn Kiefer with a 123.
