The Dauminator is back in the states playing ball.
The Sacramento Kings signed the Kimball basketball legend to their roster for the 2023 NBA Summer League.
The 6-9 Daum, also a double-digit scorer with Derthona Basket in the Italian LBA league, plays center with the Kings and scored 6 points in the team’s 80-70 loss Monday to the Los Angeles Clippers in Las Vegas. He hit a pair of 3-pointers and contributed four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Daum, now 27 and 235 pounds, continues to pursue his dream to play professionally in the United States after his stellar careers with the Kimball Longhorns and South Dakota State Jackrabbits and solid seasons at Derthona Basket.
In Italy, he averaged 10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds a game in 2022-23 and 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in 2021-22. They like Mike. He’ll return to Derthona Basket for the 2023-24 season.

The Summer League, which has a short season in July for NBA teams to develop players and look at prospects, continues through its July 17 championship game. Daum and the Kings next play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, July 13.
