FirsTier Runs In The Family For Nan Garrett

FirsTier Bank announced Monday that Nan (Nancy Prince) Garrett has been added to the board of directors of the bank.

Along with her responsibilities as bank director, Garrett has been promoted to branch manager for the bank. She will continue her responsibilities of oversight of all day-to-day operations at the Kimball branch of FirsTier.

"Nancy has long been our go-to person in Kimball. She has been with the bank for many years and is a natural addition to the board of directors" Executive Chairman Tim Wiens stated.

Nancy has followed her father Jim Prince's footsteps with FirsTier Bank. Jim Prince Sr. had a long, successful career with the bank. Prince worked for FirsTier for nearly 30 years and was always that happy, helpful guy that people counted on over the years.

Similarly, Garrett started with the bank in 1990 and among many other things is estimated to have opened up as many as 10,000 accounts for people over that time. Face to face and always with a smile.

Nancy stated, "I literally grew up with this bank and the Wiens family a part of my life. Joining the board is a responsibility I look forward to and running this branch is something I love."

FirsTier family ownership now is in its third generation. Joel Wiens founded the organization with his purchase of the Bank of Kimball back in 1963. Joel is still active in the business and on the board of directors as are sons Tom and Tim Wiens.

Tim's son-in-law Vandy Sears represents a third generation leading the business. Similar to the Wiens family, Nancy (Garrett) and the Prince family commitment to the bank spans three generations beginning with Jim Prince Sr. (now deceased), Nancy and her grown daughter Stacy at the Kimball branch.

"With all the businesses we have done, banking has always been a core business. Kimball and the dedicated people like Nancy and the Prince family have been a big part of the foundation. The bank is now 60 years old, and we're planning for the next 60 years," stated Joel Wiens, the founder.
