Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Longhorns return to the field Friday night at 2-1 Perkins County after a pair of one-sided football games – one in which they won and one in which they lost.
The 1-2 Longhorns fell 69-0 last week to the visiting North Platte St. Pat's Irish, always a tough challenge and now 4-0 on the season. That matchup followed Kimball's 40-10 victory in its home opener over Leyton.
Kimball is 1-1 at home on the season, 0-1 on the road.
The squad's first district game arrives Friday, Sept. 22, against visiting Morrill.
In other Kimball football news, Kimball activities director Darrell Howitt said the the JV football game Sept. 18 at Bayard is postponed but could be rescheduled if improved roster numbers allow for it.
