Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Longhorns look to rebound this Friday in a homecoming matchup with the visiting Morrill Lions in a D1 District 11 contest.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Horns are working this week to make it a happy homecoming.
The Leyton Warriors could be a good indicator of how this game might turn out.
The Longhorns dominated Leyton, 40-10, in their lone victory so far this season, while Morrill lost, 60-8, to that same rebuilding Warriors team.
Kimball is 1-3 this season after a 55-0 loss at Perkins County (3-1) last week, while Morrill is 0-4 after losing 58-0 to Bayard.
In the district, Kimball is 0-0 and Morrill 0-1.
The Longhorns hope to get on track with sophomore Ryker Behrend at quarterback and a running game with seniors Brandon Paxton and Derek Kauffman.
After Morrill, the Longhorns host Bayard on Sept. 25, visit Bridgeport on Sept. 29, host Hemingford Oct. 6 and visit Bayard Oct. 13.
