Organizers Release Farmers Day Schedule

‘Pie A City Guy’ Event To Debut; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles On The Big Screen

A full Farmers Day is in store for the Kimball area on the weekend of Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

Highlighting the events will be the parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by the first-ever “Pie A City Guy” event at 2 p.m. at the downtown stage in Kimball. Tickets for “Pie A City Guy” can be purchased at the Kimball Public Library. Various city officials have volunteered to be the pie target, including Mayor John Morrison, City Administrator Annette Brower, library Director Amber Sweetland and many more. The Friends of the Kimball Library are sponsoring the event.

Events on Friday include a bake sale, book sale, and craft show at the Kimball Library; bike races at 5 p.m., soup supper at the senior center and the showing of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem” at the Goodhand Theatre at 7 p.m. The movie will also play on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the always community minded Red Knights will serve breakfast at the Eagles. The traditional Kimball Farmers Day hamburger feed begins at 11:30 a.m.

Other notable events for the weekend include the Demolition Derby at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kimball-Banner County Fairgrounds and the Remote Control Airshow on Sunday.

Downtown Kimball will host many games and contests, including goat roping, cornhole and Mario Kart Tournament.
