Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Long-time residents and community minded citizens Jerry and Sharon Williams were selected as grand marshals for the 2023 Farmers Day. The Williams belong to the Methodist Church and help with church projects and Christmas events. Jerry has worked for years on the Farmers Day hamburger feed.
The Farmers Day volunteer award was presented to Craig Markum for his time and effort to the community's youth. He is involved in the youth basketball, baseball, and softball programs, including coordinating schedules and finding referees and umpires. Craig also volunteers time to help with the youth robotics program.
Kimball Auto Parts, owned by Norm and Shelly Christensen, received the Farmers Day business award. Norm knows the auto parts business inside and out. He began working for Kimball Auto Parts in 1981 at 19. The Christensens, along with a partner, purchased the business in 1998, then in 2004, they bought it outright. Kimball Auto Parts is a strong community and school supporter while providing excellent service and quality to customers in the tri-state area.
