Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Kimball XC moves on to the district meet this week after what coach Tiffany Johnson called “a great day at the SPVA meet.”
District was moved up a day from Thursday to Wednesday this week. It will be in Grant, Perkins County.
“We are hoping to beat the weather that may be coming in,” Johnson told the Observer on Tuesday. “We are really looking forward to tomorrow. Each athlete has goals set in place and knows what they want to achieve. They have worked hard all season.”
Here are some highlights form last week’s SPVA meet.
Shannen Acheson, the lone girl running for the high school, placed eighth with her PR of 24:38.
The WTC champion boys also competed well with several PRs coming from Braxton Miller, Conrad Kaminski, Peter Russel, Wyatt Cook and Kip Gillming.
In addition, Kimball Junior High ran at the first ever Junior High SPVA meet. Connor Markum ended up 10th and MacKenzie Miller was third.
Junior high 3K results included MacKenzie Miller 13:55, Marissa Gardner 18:48, Connor Markum 13:29, Logan Paxton 14:25 and Reece Kaminski 15:07
High school 5K results included Shannen Acheson 24:38, Braxton Miller 19:03, Braylon Miller 20:44, Trey Cook 21:04, Eddie Duran 21:06, Conrad Kaminski 21:20, Joseph Bremer 21:56, Peter Russel 22:47, Wyatt Cords 24:31, Wyatt Cook 25:29, Patrick Howard 27:39 and Kip Gillming 28:40.
