Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
POTTER – Potter-Dix’s Coyote Football team stayed unbeaten with another big win over Creek Valley, 72-0.
The winless Storm had no chance against the high-powered Coyote offense, and the game was effectively over when the Coyotes put up 40 unanswered points in the first quarter. Potter-Dix tacked on another 24 points to take a 64-0 lead into the halftime break. The Coyotes substituted freely in the second half and added 8 more points as they cruised to the win.
Sophomore Dylan Tabor ran the Coyote offense from the quarterback position, and completed 4 of 5 passes for 40 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tabor also rushed twice for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Senior Jaxen Buettenback also connected with a 20 yard pass for a touchdown.
Sophomore Layton Mossberg had the bulk of the Coyote’s rushing attempts, carrying the ball 10 times for 164 yards and a touchdown. Senior Brayden Kasten had 3 rushes for 55 yards and a touchdown and also had a touchdown reception.
Mossberg and Tabor each had an interception, and the Coyotes recovered three Storm fumbles. The Coyotes racked up 391 yards of total offense in the win.
The Storm could not do much against one of the best teams in D-6, only managing 77 yards of total offense.
Potter-Dix moves their record to 6-0 and travels to Oshkosh on Friday to take on the 4-2 Garden County Eagles.
Creek Valley has a bye week, then returns on October 20 for their last game of the season, hosting the Garden County Eagles in Chappell.
