Horns Put Up 40 Points In Season's Last Football Game

Kimball’s football program has shifted into 2024 mode after its season ending game last Friday at Bayard.

The Longhorns put up a hefty 40 points, but Bayard scored 76 and the visiting Horns closed their season with a fourth-place 1-3 record in D1 District 11 and 2-6 overall.

This game was a matchup for third place, and the Tigers claimed it with the win that put their record at 2-2 in the district and 3-5 overall.

Bridgeport won the district with a 4-0 record, Hemingford was second at 3-1 and Morrill fifth at 0-4.

Kimball coach Darrell Howitt has expressed pride in his team’s positive growth this season, just two years removed from an off year due to roster numbers. The foundation is firming up.
