Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Banner County
Good morning! Wow, has that wind been getting after it, and the tumble weeds are not just tumbling, they are taking flight!
I know we need the moisture, but personally I hope it holds off until the holidays are over. It would make travel a lot easier.
Have any of you ever seen the Big Horn sheep that make the Wildcat Hills their home? I see them a lot, and have happened upon about a half dozen accidents involving them.
Well, a few days ago as I was headed north, one of them streaked across Hwy. 71 headed west. He was really moving as he crossed 4 lanes of traffic evidently trying to catch up with his herd, because I only saw him.
To be honest, they scare the daylights out of me, they are so big. Anyway, just letting you know they are there although some people have never seen them, trust me.
Today, December 14th, we have a middle school girls basketball game here at home against South Platte, game time is at 1 p.m., and the boys will play at 2 p.m.

When Santa is finished there he will head to Scottsbluff, or fly, I should say, to be at Headzup ( 614 E 27th ) starting at 1 p.m.
Watch for flying reindeer as well as Big Horn sheep.
The Emmanuel Congregational Church will host a Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. until noon (4100 Avenue B, Scottsbluff ), and, this being the 3rd Saturday of the month, there will be a Free movie at the Midwest at 1:30 p.m. This week it is “It Happened On 5th Avenue” and that evening at 7 p. the classic “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” will play.
At 1 p.m. that day the first ever annual Toy/Collectible Sale will be held at 1506 10th street in Scottsbluff starting at 10 a.m.

He will also be at their morning service at 10 a.m. I have heard many compliments about this young man, and as many of you know, and remember, his dad was our music teacher many years ago and put on excellent school concerts.
Basketball will claim the rest of the week before they close up shop for the holidays. The girls varsity will play in Sioux County on the 18th at noon and again at noon the following day if the schedule is correct.
There will be Christmas celebrations all day at the school on the 20th until the buses load them up and head for home on the 20th – and you wont see them at school again until the New Year! They will return on Jan. 4th, 2024.
Heads up, there will be an evening service at the Harrisburg Community Church on Christmas Eve, the 24th, at 6 p.m.
