Raymona Williams

Raymona R. Williams, age 87, of Dix, Nebraska, passed away December 8, 2023 at The Residency in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Her graveside service will be held at the West Lawn Cemetery on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 2 p.m. Fond memories and condolences may be left at http://www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with services.

Raymona was born in Taylor, Nebraska, in Loup County on May 12, 1936, to Raymond and Phoebe Rittenhouse. She received her early education in Gering, Nebraska, and graduated from Gering High School in 1956. She married Larry W. Williams on March 31, 1961, in Gering and made a home in Kimball, then later moved to Dix in 1966, where she lived the rest of her life. In May, 1967, her daughter Suzanne was born and then she welcomed a son Kelly in August of 1970.

Raymona worked as the Village Clerk for the Village of Dix, Nebraska, and was a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. In her younger years, she was active in softball and she played for the Taylor Tots. She enjoyed bowling and fishing as well. She ran The Book Shack store in Kimball and enjoyed going to auctions and playing Bingo in her spare time.

She loved her Grandchildren, Max and Rachel McKelvey and Aaron Harper very much and enjoyed watching them grow up. Down the road she was Blessed with 3 Great Grandchildren, Kaylynn, Karson and Kayslee Harper.

Survivors include: Husband Larry Williams of Dix, NE; Daughter Suzanne G. McKelvey (Bert Weaver) of Hastings, NE; Son Kelly R. Williams (Sherri) of Melbeta, NE; Grandchildren Max J. McKelvey of Hastings, NE, Rachel L. McKelvey (Dalton Brown) of Hastings, NE, and Aaron Harper (Gretchen Willey) of Scottsbluff, NE; Great Grandchildren Kaylynn, Karson and Kayslee Harper of Scottsbluff, NE, and many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Parents Raymond and Phoebe Rittenhouse, Brothers Jerome "Jerry" Alexander (Mary), Forest "Brick" Thompson (Mary), Doyal "Dude" Thompson (Betty), and Loren Leray "Sonny" Rittenhouse, and Sister Donna Rittenhouse.
