Cristina C. Nickerson, 73, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view her tribute wall and leave condolences and stories for the family. The services for Christina have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Christina Claire Nickerson, born in McMinnville, Oregon, on May 29, 1950, the daughter of Dudley and Donna (Wright) Lee. A proud graduate of the Class of 1968 in Eugene, Oregon, Christina pursued her passion for accounting, earning a degree from Front Range Community College in Denver, Colorado.
Her career as an accountant at a magazine company showcased her dedication, and later, a brief marriage marked a chapter in her life. After retiring, Christina contributed to work part time at convenience stores in Denver before joining Dish Network for a year. Relocating to Kimball in 2013, she eventually found a home at Park Terrace, a retirement community in Kimball.
Christina’s interests were diverse, from painting to collecting owls and indulging in the intrigue of the TV show Oak Island. Her family was her anchor, and she cherished moments fishing and camping at Glendo Reservoir. The allure of Central City, Colorado’s slot machines also brought her joy.
Christina Claire Nickerson is remembered with love and survived by her daughter Sally (Mike) Gallegos of Thornton, CO; sisters Susan Lee and Dixie (Wayne) Cate both of Oregon; 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
