Boys & Girls Basketball Players, Boys Wrestlers Get The Nod From WTC, SPVA
It should come as no suprise that Kimball's one-two punch of Brandon Paxton (13) and Kyler Lusche (1) received the highest recognition among Longhorns on the 2023-24 WTC and SPVA All-Conference boys basketball teams.
The Kimball Longhorns placed a number of athletes on the Western Trails Conference and South Platte Valley Association 2023-24 all-conference high school teams for boys and girls basketball and boys wrestling.
Here's how it breaks down.
Western Trails Conference
Boys Basketball
Three Longhorns received All-Conference Honors: Brandon Paxton, Kyler Lusche and Braxton Miller. Two Longhorns received honorable mention: Trevor Fuss and Wyatt Cords.
WTC MVP went to Bridgeport's Kolby Lussetto.
Girls Basketball
Two Longhorns received honorable mention: Addy Olson and Grace Anderson.
WTC MVP went to Bridgeport's Olivia Loomis-Goltl.
Boys Wrestling
Longhorn Cody Brinkman received All-Conference Honors at 138 pounds. Longhorn Peter Russell received honorable mention at 150 pounds.
Girls Wrestling
Members of the first-year Longhorns junior high wrestling team were not yet eligible for these honors, but look for them to go for it after they start wrestling at the high school level.
SPVA Conference
Boys Basketball
Longhorn Brandon Paxton made the first team as a senior, Kyler Lusche made second team as a junior, and Braxton Miller received honorable mention as a sophomore.
Girls Basketball
Longhorn Addy Olson received honorable mention as a sophomore.
