Plenty Going On In Longhorns Nation

The spring sports season is inching ever closer for the Kimball boys and girls track teams and the boys golf team, but that’s not all that’s going on in Longhorns Nation.

Kimball Public Schools also looks to fill a number of coaching positions for the 2024-25 academic year.

Here they are:

• Varsity head boys basketball.

• Varsity assistant girls basketball.

• Varsity head and assistant girls wrestling.

• Varsity head boys track.

• Assistant cheer.

• Junior high head and assistant boys wrestling.

• Junior high head girls track.

Sports

As for the spring sports teams, Kimball track is off to the Morrill varsity invitational this Saturday, March 23 and then the invitational at Bayard on March 28.

Kimball’s junior high tracksters, meanwhile, host Pine Bluffs on March 23 in the latest installment of this state border dual.

And the boys golf team? The season tees off April 3 with the invitational at Sidney’s Hillside Golf Course.

Signing Day

Another date to note on the upcoming Kimball sports calendar is April 9. That’s Longhorn Football Signing Day for Coach Howitt’s team, which looks to continue its improvement in fall 2024.
