Art Display Showcases Talents, Works Of Kimball Students

Senior Braylon Miller, a standout among Kimball's art students, showcased his exceptional works and creativity at the recent Kimball Art Show. The event was proof to the artistic abilities of students from kindergarten to high school.

Art teacher Mr. Mark Jefferis explained, "The art show provides us with the opportunity to show students that we are proud of their work and to share with the community the artistic abilities of students at Kimball Public Schools."

Braylon's artwork from this year included landscapes, a self-portrait, a portrait of a "Smallville" character, photography and digital imaging.

Using the Illustrator and Photoshop computer design programs, Braylon created a self-portrait and a horror movie poster.

Braylon's favorite type of painting is landscapes using oil paints. He said the most challenging part is making it blend together, but he likes to paint nature scenes.

Post-graduation, Braylon is headed to WNCC, where he plans to pursue an associate degree in wildlife management or biology. His ultimate goal is to earn a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology.

Mr. Jefferis said the show included drawings, paper sculptures, digital photography, and digital imaging.

Mr. Jefferis said, "This year, we also featured a six-hole miniature golf course. Each hole was inspired by artwork from a movement or place."
