JaLeigh Bohac Sets Best Of West Meet Record

Kimball Eighth-Grader Wins Junior High Discus With Hurl Of 105 Feet, 5 Inches

The Longhorns went to Pine Bluffs last week for the Kenda Roeder Invite.

In the girls division, Julia Winstrom was 4th in the 100. Faith Bohac was 6th in the 200. Rachel Berger was 4th in the 400. Shannen Acheson was 1st in the 1,600 and 5th in the 800. Hannah Kilgore 3rd in the 100 Hurdles.

The 4x100 relay was 3rd, consisting of Rachel Berger, Clarika Hottell, Emma Novotny and Julia Winstrom. Addy Olson was 1st in the high jump with Katie Kilgore following at 5th. Rachel Berger was 2nd in the pole vault followed by Clarika Hottell in 3rd and Shannen in 6th. Julia Winstrom was 2nd in long jump followed by Kylie Wendt in 3rd. Addy Olson was 2nd in triple jump.

On the boys side, Noe Trevino placed 2nd and Greg Bingham 6th in the 100. Greg Bingham was also 5th in the 200. Jacob Wendt was 2nd in the 400. Braylon Miller was 2nd in the 800. Braxton Miller was 1st in the 1,600 with Conrad Kaminski coming in 4th. Conrad Kaminski was also 3rd in the 3,200.

Trenton Hottell was 3rd in the 110 M hurdles with Peter Russell 5th and Kip Gillming 6th. Derek Kauffman was 3rd in the 300 hurdles with Trenton 5th.

The 4x100 relay was 2nd, consisting of Noe Trevino, Derek Russell, Greg Bingham and Trevor Fuss. Derek Russell was 4th in the shot put and discus. Braxton Miller was 2nd in the high jump and triple jump.

Best Of The West

At the Best of the West on Tuesday, Kimball Junior High sent 16 athletes to the event.

Placing first in the discus with her last throw was JaLeigh Bohac with a meet record of 105'5". The previous meet record was 103'4". JaLeigh's throws were 103'10", 103'4", and her last throw was the record seating 105'5".

Two Kimball Junior High athletes placed second in their events. Brecklyn Kiefer in the pole vault tied for second as a 7th grader and Brayden Fuss vaulted for the second place.

Kimball High School Best of the West Participants were Pole Vault – Trevor Fuss, Peter Russell and Rachel Berger. Shot Put – Derek Russell. Discus – Derek Russell and Wyatt Cords. High Jump and Triple Jump – Addy Olson, 1,600 – Braxton Miller. 4x400 – Jacob Wendt, Trevor Fuss, Braxton Miller and Noe Trevino.
