Clark L. Huff was born in Kimball on March 31, 1939, the son of Earl and Lillian (Johnson) Huff. At an early age, his mother died and his father remarried and Rose Marie became his second mom, someone Clark grew very fond of.
Clark's family lived north of Dix until the blizzard of 1949 when his family moved to Kimball. Clark attended District 34 country school until the 5th grade. In 1956 he graduated from the Kimball County High School. He then attended Chadron State College and studied English and Agriculture.
On May 1, 1960, Clark married his high school sweetheart Darla J. Hensley, Clark and Dar raised their two boys Dane and Sterling on the Huff family farm in Kimball County.
Clark had many skills including carpentry and welding. After his farming and ranching career, he enjoyed collecting and selling antique tractors and trucks. His love of old farm memorabilia is reflected throughout his home (and the reason a tractor photo accompanies this obituary). He sold his antiques in over 38 states and Canada.
Clark designed and patented the "Huffie" Fence Cleaner, a machine that would clean the debris out of fences along the highways. The Huffie was marketed and distributed to state Highway Departments across the US.
He had a memory like an elephant and could remember names, dates, and details from many of his past endeavors.
Survivors include his wife Dar Huff of Kimball, NE; sons Dane (Nancy) Huff of Kimball, NE., and Sterling (Danielle) Huff of Gering, NE; granddaughters Teyla and Bristol Huff, and Krysta Ferencak; great grandchildren KeAnna, Deakyn and Ethan; niece and nephew Nicole, Wade (Brooke), Vicki (Keith) and Tina (Ryan); great nieces and nephews Kenzy, Aspyn, Maddie, Bransyn, Cauley and Breckyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and many other family and friends.
