Anderson, Hottell Win Firsts At State Trap

Kimball trap team members made their mark at the Nebraska state meet in Doniphan on Saturday, June 8.

Kimball placed second as a team at 442, while Blair took first at 473.

In varsity trap high gun, numerous Longhorns fared well individually. Here's the rundown.

Grace Anderson was first among females and tied for sixth overall with a total score of 91, Cainin Sours and Nolan Hook tied for eighth at 90, Kolt Hottell was 11th at 86, Trenton Hottell tied for 13th at 85, Lane Cook tied for 17th at 84, Hunter Lonsdale tied for 19th at 83, Cameron McGinnis tied for 27th at 77, Teague Mazza was 29th at 73, Evan Miller was 30th at 72 and Damien Vandewater was 31st at 68

First overall in varsity trap high gun went to Kalvin Kies of Blair at 98.

In JV trap high gun, Kimball's Kambree Hottell won it all. She placed first overall at 84. Other Longhorns were Bryce Eggli sixth at 77 and Tradin Hottell 19th at 62. Kambree Hottell also placed first in this category among JV females.

In novice trap high gun, Kimball's Austin West finished seventh at 48.

Another highlight at State: Cainin Sours and Kolt Hottell of Kimball both recorded 25 straight patches.

Nationals is at Michigan in July.
