Greenwoods Again Win Father's Day Tournament

The Men's Thursday Night Golf League had a great turnout, great scores, and beautiful weather at the annual Father's Day golf tournament. League president Randy Bohac announced prizes and winners.

Kenny, Jordan and Jeff Greenwood won the championship division with a 113. The Greenwoods are not new to winning the tournament. According to their calculations, they have won seven of the last 10. Both Greenwood boys played high school golf in Kimball and went on to play in college, Jordan resides in Omaha and Jeff lives in Casper, Wyoming. Of course, Kenny lives in Gering.

On Saturday, the Greenwoods were one stroke ahead, but on Sunday, "We were off the charts" according to Kenny. They hit the jackpot on the back nine with threes on each hole for a 10 under par 27. They recorded three eagles on the back. Driving, chipping, and putting were on the mark.

After the Greenwoods stellar round of 113, Jeremy Burke's team placed second with a 119, third place went to the Texas Brown team with a 121 and the Heeg team shot a 121 and placed fourth.

In the first flight, Tom O'Brien's team got first with a 129, The Hahn team was second, Team Daum was third, and the McCloud team fourth.

The second flight winners were the Steve Brown team, the Greenwoods (Michael, Ethan and Adam), the Janiceks Crew and the Christensens. Chuck Christensen teamed up with his two daughters, Megan and Kelsey (both from Colorado) to celebrate Father's Day.

Finally, the third flight winners were the Dean Golding family. The Lukassen team was second and Justin Fornstrom's team took third.
