The grand finale is nearing for a Kimball institution, Larsen's Jewelry, after 98 years of business that defied the fate of closing at an earlier age that so many neighboring businesses experienced over the years. A going out of business sale with deep discounts is planned from today, June 27, through Sunday, June 30, for the iconic store that has been true to its name as a jewel of downtown Kimball's Chestnut Street since 1926. It has been a family operation from when O.C. Larsen opened up shop in September 1926 to being nurtured along by the Robinson family. Their belief has been that superior products and service come first with every customer. – Jim Orr
