The grand finale is nearing for a Kimball institution, Larsen's Jewelry, after 98 years of business that defied the fate of closing at an earlier age that so many neighboring businesses experienced over the years. A going out of business sale with deep discounts is planned from today, June 27, through Sunday, June 30, for the iconic store that has been true to its name as a jewel of downtown Kimball's Chestnut Street since 1926. It has been a family operation from when O.C. Larsen opened up shop in September 1926 to being nurtured along by the Robinson family.
