Golf Pro Resignation Accepted; Sprinklers To Be Bought

Miller Joins Park & Rec Operating Board; Lafollette To Manage Pro Shop

A special meeting of the Parks and Rec Operating Board was held on Wednesday, July 10, to accept the resignation of Four Winds golf pro Edward Tamsett.

Tamsett, from Australia, took the Four Winds golf pro job in the spring of 2023 after long-time golf pro Chad Wise left.

The operating board’s newest appointed member is Jenna Miller, and the chairman is Henry Heeg. Other members include John Morrison, Rich Flores, Jaclyn Burks and vice chairman Pat O’Brien. O’Brien was absent from the July 10 meeting.

The second order of business on the agenda was action on purchasing inventory from Tamsett. No decision was made on the inventory buyout.

With months remaining in the golf season, the next agenda item discussed was the management of the pro shop for the rest of the season. Cheryl Lafollette has been employed at the pro shop, and she will begin managing it when Tamsett leaves.

The operating board also approved using $11,000 from a contingency fund to purchase as many sprinklers as possible to get water to critical areas.

A tentative date of Sept. 14 has been set for the Four Winds fundraising tournament.
