Kimball XC Getting In Morning Runs; Volleyball Hits The Hardwood Later
Kimball Longhorn head football coach Darrell Howitt said he was "super excited" for the season and said it is "always great to get on the field."
Howitt had about 20 guys out for the first day of five practices this week.
Early in the morning, they had an offensive focus and later was the defensive focus. Linebackers and defensive backs got some specialty work.
Howitt said he was pleased with those showing up and had expected a few more, but some were on vacation and some just had to work at their jobs.
Connor Deboodt was the only senior, but the juniors had a good showing as well as the younger guys, the coach said
Howitt sung the praises of Deboodt's commitment to the program, which includes the weight room. The junior class has also been dedicated to the weight room and the summer camps.
The Longhorns open the season Aug. 29 with a nonconference game at Hyannis.
