Information Meeting To Focus On Solar Energy Projects In Banner County

Good morning! Still warm, but a little taste of Fall in the early morning and at night.

I saw a post the other day that said some stores want us to put up our Christmas tree while eating turkey and trying on Halloween costumes at the same time! That pretty much describes this time of year.

Here at home we have better things to do, like watch varsity volleyball here at home tonight at 5 p.m. as they take on Hemmingford and Leyton. Good luck girls!

Friday the 13th there is No School. However, the middle school and varsity cross country teams will be headed to Kimball for competition that will be at 11 a.m. They will be competing at the Four Winds Golf Course. The varsity volleyball girls will be headed to Wauneta-Palisade to play at 6 p.m.

The 13th is also the start of the weekend movie at the Midwest Theater. This week it is “Fly Me to the Moon,” and has NASA’s historic Apollo 11 as its backdrop. It will play on the 13th at 1:30 p.m., the 14th at 7 p.m. and the 15th at 1:30 p.m. The Midwest will have a special showing on the 13th also. This one will begin at 10:30 p.m. The movie, of course is, “Friday the 13th.”

The Farmers Markets will continue in Morrill through the end of October, and the 18th Street Market will be this Saturday between 8 - 11 a.m.

Also on Saturday, September 14, the USA Boxing, RPM Boxing Club of Scottsbluff and Western Nebraska Pioneers will host “Big League Brawl Amateur Bouts” at the Oregon Trail Park Stadium in Gering at 6 p.m. There is a fee.

On Sunday the 15th there will be a Vintage Harvest Party at The Farm, 230975 CR J in Scottsbluff. There will be coffee and donuts, grape stomping and live music to stomp by. and more. It starts at 8 a.m.

On Tuesday the 17th, the cross country teams will be headed to Bridgeport for competition at the Court House and Jail Rock Golf Course, all day. The 6th graders will be going on a field trip to the Wild Cat Hills. Branch Out is their theme. Safe travel to all students, have fun, and good luck!

Also on the 17th, there will be a Banner County Information meeting at the school at 6 p.m. The topic will be possible solar energy projects in Banner County. You can read a public notice about this on Page B5.

Well folks, whatever you do or don’t do, it will be enough. Have a great week and take care until the next time. Barb Cross at 436-7152.
