Buford and Benny Williams

Benita Mary 

(Hausmann) Williams

May 27, 1943 – Sept. 3, 2024

Benita was born to Alvin and Regina Hausmann in Spencer, Nebraska.  When she was 7 years old, she went to Alliance, Nebraska to live with her grandparents so that she could attend St. Agnes Academy. After graduation, she attended Saint Mary's at Omaha in the nursing program.

Buford Louis Williams

July 24, 1936 – Sept. 3, 2024

Bu was born to Buford and Margaret Williams in Alliance, Nebraska.  He graduated from St. Agnes Academy and then from Chadron State College. Bu earned a Master's degree from the University of Missouri. He served in the US Army from 1960 - 1962 stationed in Germany.

Bu and Benny were united in marriage on June 15, 1963, in Alliance, Nebraska. They honeymooned at Guernsey State Park in Wyoming where they later had a vacation cabin and spent many weekends and summers creating memories with family and friends. They made their home in Kimball,  Nebraska where they were blessed with four children. Bu taught high school science, drivers ed and coached various sports for 32 years.  Benny worked many years for the Nebraska Natural Resource District. They were involved in many community activities and their church.

Bu and Benny enjoyed traveling and traveled abroad and via Amtrak for fun new adventures.

Bu and Benny loved the water.  After retiring, they moved to Lake Minatare where Benny enjoyed jet skiing and Bu loved sailing on his catamaran. They hosted many family and holiday getaway togethers.

Bu was a true craftsman. He loved tinkering in his workshop where he created beautiful wood projects, many crafts and even built steam engines.

Benny enjoyed hosting and serving people, quilting and crocheting, and was an avid Bridge player.

Together they were a team and truly life partners. They were often seen holding hands and enjoyed each other's company.

Bu and Benny are survived by their four children: Gina and husband Steve Breuklander of Sparks, Nebraska, Dan and wife Rosa-Ellen Williams of Kimball, Nebraska, Julie and husband Joby DeMers of Jacksonville, Florida, and David and wife Kristine of Atwater, California. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
