Glen Dale Bivens was born in Sidney, Nebraska, on April 4, 1964, the son of Dale and Karen Ann (Ogley) Bivens. Glen moved to Kimball at an early age with his family. He attended Kimball County High School, graduating with the class of 1983. Shortly after graduation, Glen answered the call to serve his country, joining the National Guard. He attended boot camp and proudly served for over a decade, demonstrating his commitment to the safety and security of the nation.

Following his honorable service in the National Guard, Glen pursued his passion for mechanics, earning a degree in auto mechanics from Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney. His career began in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but soon the pull of home brought him back to Kimball, where he worked for several years at Castronics threading oil field pipe. His career then led him to Polypipe before he found a long-term position at TE in Sidney, where he dedicated 15 years to crafting communication wire. As his health began to decline, Glen returned to Kimball, where he continued to work at the Kimball landfill until his health required him to retire.

Outside of work, Glen was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, who were loyal companions throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, shooting, and collecting guns. Above all, Glen treasured his time with family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, and cousins, who brought him great joy. His love for family was evident in the gatherings and cookouts he enjoyed so much, where his laughter and warmth will be dearly missed. Glen leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and a life well-lived. He will be remembered for his service, his love of family, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his mother Karen Ann Bivens of Kimball, NE; sister Anna (Allen) Hansen of Minatare, NE; nieces Katie (Erik) Warner and their children August and Emile of Sioux City, IA., and Randi Hansen of Minatare, NE; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother Joe Bivens and many extended family.
