After 54-26 Win, Longhorns Get St. Pat's

With a comfortable win now under their belts, the Kimball Longhorns get another home game opportunity this Friday – but it will be quite the challenge.

Here come the Irish of North Platte St. Pat's. Game time is 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Keith Staehr Field.

The Longhorns evened their record at 1-1 with a 54-26 win Saturday with an eight-touchdown performance against the visiting Bayard Tigers. Senior Noe Trevino led the way with five touchdowns, while the defense contained Bayard much of the game.

But now the 2024 version of St. Pat's rolls into Kimball for a nonconference game fully upholding its storied football tradition.

The Irish are 2-0 on the season after cruising past two of Kimball's D1 District 10 league mates. They just beat Sutherland 68-10 on Sept. 5 after opening the season with a 21-8 win over Bridgeport.

After St. Pat's, Coach Darrell Howitt's Longhorns plunge into district play at Hemingford on Sept. 20, vs. Bridgeport on Sept. 27, at Perkins County on Oct. 3, and at Sutherland on Oct. 10. All are 7 p.m. starts.

Kimball opened the season with a 30-12 defeat at Hyannis.
