Public Hearing Set To Discuss Proposed Practice Track
On Sept. 17 the Kimball County Commissioners set a public hearing for Oct. 1 at 10:15 a.m. on a potential motocross practice track south of Kimball on Road 16 and west of Highway 71.
Owners of the property Michael and Melissa Caldwell applied for a conditional use permit for indoor or outdoor recreational facilities. The Caldwells purchased the 40 acres and have plans of building a house beginning next spring.
Another public hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. to renew the conditional use permit for owners Dale and Ruth Critchfield of Real Western Wings. The planning commission recommended approval of Real Western Wings.
In other county business, the commissioners discussed needed repairs on the elevator. Elevator repairs will take 4½ days, and the discussion centered on an effort to minimize down time versus overtime cost. Finally, office personnel suggested second floor offices would have someone available to meet residents on the first floor for those days that the elevator was out of commission. The elevator repairs proposal without overtime will cost the county $64,580.
The next regular Kimball County Commissioners meeting will be Tuesday, October 1 at 9 a.m.
