Kimball XC Showing Growth In Season's First Half

The Kimball cross country team will travel to Alliance on Saturday, then to Ogallala on Sept. 26, completing half of their season. The Alliance meet is known for its challenging terrain, while the Ogallala meet is a crucial one in the season. Last week was the Kimball meet.

Coach Tiffany Johnson said, "The Kimball meet went well, and the kids have been working really hard. They started out setting the bar high at the Panhandle Classic. Then we ran Gering, which is a tougher, hillier course and still did well. Then we ran our home meet.

"Their attitude and work ethic have been so good."

The team has four meets under its belt with the most recent meet at Bridgeport. Results will appear in next week's edition.

With 10 teams at the Kimball meet on Friday, Sept. 13, the Kimball runners continued to improve. Topping the Kimball runners were Braxton Miller in 4th place and Conrad Kaminski finished in 6th place.

Additional Kimball runners were Eddie Duran, 25th; Wyatt Cook, 39th; Peter Russell, 42nd place; Kip Gillming, 27th; and Patrick Howard, completing the field in 50th place.

At the Gering Invite, Braxton Miller, 24th, and Conrad Kaminski, 32nd, led the Kimball field of runners with Eddie Duran finishing 58th, Wyatt Cook 63rd, and Connor Markum 66th. JV runners finishing Gering were Kip Gillming, 45th, Peter Russell, 49th, and Patrick Howard, 66th.

Kimball's lone female runner, Renee Murdoch, ran in the JV division and brought home 27th place. Braxton Miller placed 11th at the Panhandle Classic meet at Riverview Golf Course, followed by
