Longhorns Volleyball Battling, Seeking First Victory

In a hard-fought match on Tuesday night, the Kimball Longhorns volleyball team displayed resilience despite falling short in a 3-0 loss to the Sutherland Sailors. The final set scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20 reveal just how competitive the Longhorns were throughout the contest, pushing their opponents in every set.

While Kimball’s season record now stands at 0-8, the Longhorns showed promising moments, battling point for point with Sutherland, a non-conference school.

Looking ahead, the Longhorns will continue to build on their perseverance and turn their competitive spirit into victories in upcoming matches. For the 2024 season, senior Rachel Berger holds the team lead for kills per set at 2.6. Hannah Kilgore, a junior, has the most digs per set at 5.5 and 9 serving acres.

The Horns travelled to Hershey on Tuesday and will see action on Thursday at a triangular in Leyton. The next home match is Monday Sept. 30, against Creek Valley. After a matchup with Pine Bluffs, the Horns host the WTC on Oct. 3.

After the WTC, Kimball will play only one home match for the remainder of the season.
