It's off to Perkins County for a district game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, for the Kimball Longhorns, who aim to get back in the win column after their loss, top photo, to visiting district leader Bridgeport last Friday. It's a challenging matchup for the Horns. Kimball on the season is 0-2 in the district and 1-4 overall , while Perkins County is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the district. Perkins is tied for third with Sutherland, and Kimball is tied for fifth with Morrill. Then there's this: Perkins has scored 158 points and allowed 86 this season, while Kimball has scored 120 and allowed 248. In other Kimball football "action" last weekend, the team sponsored the "Longhorns Football Smash a Car" event, lower photo, on 2nd Street during Farmer's Day.
