KIMBALL FFA LIVESTOCK JUDGING

Kimball FFA won five individual ribbons Monday at District FFA Livestock Judging in Hemingford. In junior high, Kyndal Reich, at right, was second overall and Britton Culek, left, fourth. Other ribbon winners were high school students Karsyn Chesley second, Lane Cook third, and Aubrey Culek fourth. In livestock judging, participants evaluate, select and place livestock species, such as beef cattle, sheep and swine. They also learn about desirable traits for marketing and breeding livestock. Participants rank animals, answer questions, and provide reasons from memory.
