On Thursday, Oct. 10, Lori Maas captured the beauty of the Northern Lights from her home north of Potter. She took the picture with her iPhone. The lights occurred about 8:20 p.m. She said they didn't last long but it was "pretty cool." This week, Lori is waiting for Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) to appear in the evening sky. The comet should be visible 45 minutes after sunset in the western sky, but the position will change throughout the week. This comet has an 80,000-year orbit, and it's best to catch a glimpse of it this week.
