Horns Enter Football Offseason On High Note

Kimball Defeats Morrill, 46-0, In Finale; 10 8th-Graders Expected To Join Team Next Year

The Horns handed the Morrill Lions a season ending defeat by a score of 46-0. The Longhorns also ended the season with a big win, but an overall record of 2-6 and fifth in district standings.

Kimball football will miss the following seniors: Trenton Hottell, Jacob Wurdeman, Connor Deboodt, Noe Trevino, Hunter Funk and Aaspyn Tyan.

Efforts forge on to build a bright future for the Horns. Coach Darrell Howitt said that 10 eighth-graders will add to the program for next fall. He said the eighth graders are a solid group of young athletes.

Howitt said he feels good about the freshmen class and is high on the athleticism of the sophomore class, but next year's seniors hold a special place in his heart focusing on working hard and leadership skills.

Howitt said that their schedule was tough this year and will be tough next year, but he believed they had the ability to beat Hyannis and Sutherland but circumstances just didn't let it happen.

Howitt said they are not going to be big, but in eight-man football athleticism will win out.

He gave credit to the defense, saying in the last four games it had really come along and proved to be solid. But the offense struggled with consistency.

Once again, Coach Howitt already is excited for next year's football season.
