Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
With the Nov. 5 election in the books two years after he was appointed to the Banner County Commissioner, Don Lease was elected in his own right to a four-year term. He had 314 votes, 10 write-in votes and 65 undervotes (undervotes are the number of ballots left blank on that issue).
Banner County School Board had three seats open and three individuals vying for those seats.
Jacob Knaub and John-Robert J. Faden tallied up 277 votes each, and Laura Baker had 252. There also were 10 write-in votes and 318 undervotes. All three individuals will take their oath of office in January 2025.
For the Education Service Unit 13 Board, Stephen Diemoz retained his seat with 286 votes, with 3 write-ins and 100 undervotes.
In North Platte Natural Resource District Subdistrict 1, 312 votes went to Dan Weinreis with 3 write-in and 74 undervotes. For NPNRD Subdistrict 2, Chuck Hinkle received 314 votes. In Subdistrict 3, David Deines reported in for Banner County with 315 votes, 1 write-invote and 73 undervotes. Finally, Subdistrict 4 shows Roger Eirich took 305 votes, 2 write-ins and 82 undervotes.
Judge Derek Weimer was retained, receiving 254 yes votes and 72 no votes and 63 undervotes in Banner County.
