After Taking 1st & 3rd At Scottsbluff, Coach Pittman Says His Players Ready To Compete
E SPORTS in Kimball is competitive and finding its way in the high school gaming world.
Coach Kelvin Pittman has five players participating in regional play for the fall semester. Pittman took his five players to Scottsbluff for the 2nd annual E SPORTS tournament despite the snow that blanketed the area on Saturday.
The team departed Kimball at 5:30 a.m. and played in the first round from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kimball had two Fortnight teams participating. Finals continued after the first round play.
Winning first place was the two-member team of Gio Sanchez and Abdiel Flores.
Kimball also took third place honors with the team of Parker Deboodt, Brayden Fuss and Landen Nunley.
Pittman said that this is the “first of many wins” and that last year was a foundational year, but this year they are ready to compete.
Pittman also said he is always looking for more talent. His philosophy is to get his players to perform at a top level. They will take that success and transition it into all aspects of their lives.
The fall season E SPORTS team will continue playing on the game Valorant on Tuesday, and Thursday they play Fortnight.
Statewide play in the NSESA League begins in the spring semester.
