Kimball Students Welcome Their Grandparents For A Bite To Eat At School
The streets by Mary Lynch Elementary School were lined with cars, and the guests were lined up out the doors of the school on Tuesday morning for the Grandparents Breakfast.
Doughnuts, fruit and sausage were on the menu for the annual breakfast on Tuesday.
Monday, Danessa Terrill was getting everything ready for the event, which brought out 140 adults last year along with 142 students. Normally, she said that they feed 70 students breakfast.
Excited for breakfast, students and grandparents begin showing up at 7 a.m. and continue until 8 a.m. Terrill said, "The kids love having their grandparents come and eat with them."
The HELPS group sets up tables and chairs for the added breakfast company. Terrill said that they have been having Grandparents Breakfast for seven or eight years, and they also have a day for the parents to come eat breakfast with their students.
