Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Wanda Beth Milton, the daughter of Cedric Arthur Hoskin and Margaret Anna "Hughson" Hoskin, passed away Nov. 27, 2024. She grew up in Succasunna, NJ and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1964.
Wanda started working at 15 years old at the local grocery store where she met her husband Colin. She worked on and off over the years, doing everything from bookkeeping, business management, and home based businesses like Tupperware and Avon.
Wanda was married to Colin Milton in Denver, Colorado on March 13th, 1964. They lived and raised their four children in Colorado for 45 years. Colin and Wanda retired in Kimball, Nebraska, where they enjoyed life on their small farm raising llamas, goats, horses, dogs and cats. After the unfortunate passing of her husband of 54 years, Wanda decided to continue her retirement in Venice, Florida.
Wanda was an avid photographer and spent many summers in both Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks taking pictures of the gorgeous scenery and wildlife. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and time on the beach. She spent much of her time reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting. Wanda made many beautiful quilts, afghans, hats and booties over the years for her twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Wanda loved to volunteer throughout the years. She spent many years volunteering as a 4-H leader, as well as on the Adams County Fair Board. One of her favorite activities was being a "horse show mom" to daughters Amy and Amanda. Wanda volunteered her photography skills at "Camp Grace", a camp for special needs children. She most recently volunteered at a local humane society and even fostered a cat. Her latest passion project was hatching and releasing Monarch Butterflies each summer.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Colin Milton, her youngest daughter Amanda Milton Cronkhite, parents, and older brothers Alan "Perk" Hoskin, and Robert Arthur Hoskin.
Survivors include her son Daniel Milton of Reed Point, MT, daughters Laura (David) Whelchel of Harrisburg, NE, and Amy (Ian) Maxwell of Englewood, FL and sister Lillian Joyce Jennings of Stanhope, NJ.
Services for Wanda will take place at The Trinity United Methodist Church, 305 E. 4th St. Kimball, Nebraska, on June 21, 2025 at 11:00 am. A time of fellowship and a luncheon will follow.
Per the wishes of both Wanda and her husband Colin, their ashes along with those of their youngest daughter Amanda will be spread in the Grand Tetons National park in the days following the service. All family and friends are welcome to join in this beautiful tribute.
