Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
This last week we had a full week of games with another busy week ahead of us before break. On Tuesday, we traveled to Garden County and got our first win of the season, 24-21.
This game was physical and had momentum swings for each team. I was proud of our girls and their ability to show growth and grit at the end of the game, when we needed to hold on to a lead. Definitely some learning points to take from the game, but the girls played well and as a team.

Next we hosted a very well coached Perkins County team that always seems to reload with athletes. This was the first time our JV girls got to see some action and I was happy they got a full game to get some experience.
Our varsity girls came up short 44-54, however they played the best they have this season. Our defense scheme worked how we wanted it to, and our offense just needed to hit a few more outside shots. This game was a great indicator of the potential this team has.

Next, we traveled to Morrill where we always seem to struggle. This time was no different as we lost 20-44. We started strong, going up 9-0 in the first quarter but we were plagued with foul trouble early on and without depth in numbers, we struggled to keep up with pace of scoring.
Both Bohac sisters, who do a good majority of our scoring, played only about half of the game due to foul trouble. While this was definitely not our best game by far, I am hopeful we will get to see this matchup again in either WTC or sub districts and we will play a much better game.

This week we host Hershey on Thursday and we travel to Gordon-Rushville on Saturday.
