Betty DeFranco

Betty DeFranco, 74, of Kimball, NE, passed away December 9, 2024, in Scottsbluff, NE.

Betty was born January 30, 1950, in Kimball, to Bernard Steel and Dorothy Peerce, received her early education in Kimball schools and graduated from Mt. Saint Gertrude High School in Boulder, CO. She also attended class in Kearney, NE.

She met Lee Sauter in Kearney and they married in 1968. They made their home in Kearney, where they had 2 children; Alex and Lisa.

However, it was with her husband Edward DeFrance she found the love of her life. Ed was her partner and greatest companion. She cherished their time together.

Survivors include: Alex Sauter (Leigh), Lisa Rockhold, grandchildren Zach and Steia Rockhold and grandson Kru Rockhold. She is also survived by her brother Jim Steele (Becky), sister in-law Jere Steele along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was proceeded in death by her brother Eddie, parents Bernard and Dorothy (Peerce) Steele, and husband Edward DeFranco.

Private services were planned. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in her name to the Festival of Hope or other cancer foundations.
