Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Longhorns girls wrestling Coach Katie Culek summarized the past month of the program's second NSAA season. Wrestling for Kimball High School are Barbara Earley, Noley Brower, Rachel Berger, Becca Koski and McKenzie Howard.
Pausing for Christmas break, the girls have participated in four meets, including:
• Chadron with no Kimball wrestlers placing.
• Perkins County with Noley Brower and Becca Koski both placing second and Barbara Earley third.
• Cheyenne with Noley Brower ttaking third and Barbara Earley fourth.
The most recent meet leading up to break was with Sidney, and three gals took home medals. Barbara Earley and Noley Brower finished third and McKenzie Howard fourth.
Coach Culek complemented her wrestlers, saying they are an amazing group of hard working girls. They are showing great progress already.
Culek said Rachel has been a great leader as the only senior and all the others are freshman. She believes the are girls are enjoying it.
"It has been a learning experience, but they have all been very dedicated and willing to learn," Culek said. "I am excited to continue to see the progression throughout the year and look forward to next year ... Beth Brown is my assistant coach has been a great asset to the team as well. We have had a lot of fun with the girls."
